It’s that once a year event that seems compulsory for DJs and sees people staying up into the early hours of the morning.
Once again I was back at the Halfway House in Challock to celebrate the arrival of the New Year.
Usually with a wedding or birthday party things are starting to slow down or finish at midnight, but on this one occasion a year, the fun is only just beginning.
There’s something about a countdown that we all, whether we admit it or not, love. Nothing significantly really changes after midnight but there’s such a vibe in those final few seconds!
For me, the final track of the year always has to be Europe – The Final Countdown, then the big ben chimes at midnight, leading into Auld Langs Syne. I’m not much of a traditionalist (or at least I don’t like to admit it) but that running order seems to work very well.
Then it’s back to the party with whatever the party goers want for a couple of hours. This year saw highlights including Jive Bunny, Charlie Puth and S Club 7 (how random!).
Well, I’ve now recovered from the late night and now looking forward to whatever 2016 has to offer.
