Blog - New microphones
Over the summer I invested in new wireless microphones to improve the quality provided. And I've gone from just having the one microphone to now having four.
Granted that’s not very exciting to any non-DJ in itself, but what does that mean for my clients?
The easy comparison is that I’ve now got four wireless microphones available so it makes it more flexible what I can offer. It means I can introduce the speeches and have another microphone available with the first speaker rather than having to hand the same microphone over.
But even if you only need one, the new microphones offer a bigger range so you can take the microphones further away from my console. (Sorry, technical waffle – using the older VHF frequency meant the range was only about 30 metres, now the UHF frequency allows a range of up to 100 metres).
When I’ve providing PA equipment at events there’s much greater flexibility and more people able to use the microphones simultaneously.
And the bit I really like, each one has a different coloured ring on it to make it easier for me to identify which microphone needs adjusting.
For those techies wondering, yes – they’re the KAM Quartet.
