With the roadmap out of the current Covid pandemic announced today, here are the main points for the wedding industry.
Boris Johnson has outlined some of the earliest dates for the easing of certain restrictions over the coming months.
For the wedding industry, it looks like from the earliest of Monday 17th May 2021, up to 30 people will be allowed at weddings.
Although the rest of the restrictions are penciled for Monday 21st June 2021, there is the strong hint that weddings will not be within this and some restrictions may remain. Whether the limit would remain at 30 people or increase is unclear at this stage.
Update: The Government has confirmed in the roadmap (page 39) that the lifting of restrictions for weddings will only take place "subject to the outcome of the scientific Events Research Programme".
